About

I practiced law for fifteen years in rural East Texas–Winnsboro and the surrounding counties.  I had a general, small-town practice, handling divorce, child custody, probate, criminal defense, and general civil litigation.

In 2010, I relocated my practice to beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, where I was born.  My primary area of practice is family law, including divorce, child custody, child support modification and enforcement, and grandparent rights.  I have extensive experience representing parents and children in suits involving child protective services.

In addition to family law, I handle personal injury cases–including wrongful death; probate matters–including drafting wills, admitting wills to probate, administration and guardianship; and general civil litigation.

The purpose of this blog is to provide information about family law matters.  Divorce and custody litigation is stressful on all members of the family.  Most people don’t go to the courthouse on a regular basis:  I do.  On average, I am in court somewhere every other day. My goal is to pass along to my readers a portion of the wisdom and experience I have gained from my years dealing with families, lawyers, and judges.  I want to answer some of your questions and make you more comfortable with the process.

I will update this blog two to three times per week.  Please subscribe or bookmark my page and visit often.  If you have topics you would like me to address, let me know.  Your feedback is important to me:  please comment on my posts.  Your comments will be held for moderation, and I will respond as I am able.  Thank you for visiting.
